3/24-3/26

Another week has come and gone and San Francisco has a number of new events to tickle your fancy, no matter your tastes.

3/24 - Britta Unders featuring Milo Häfliger & Carlos Heredia

Germany meets the Netherlands in this Friday when Britta Arnold and Unders take over the Loft in Public Works. The pair has gained a strong following in Europe, playing in Ibiza, Berlin, Paris, and Madrid. Their united talents bring dreamy and Balearic-influenced tech house to more minimal techno sounds.

3/25 - Dark Entries Records Women’s Herstory Month Release Party - RS94109

Josh Cheon’s Dark Entries Records and RS94109 enjoy a healthy coexistence; now they are hosting another album release party (From Nursery to Misery and Rubella Ballet). The in-store (and all female, no less) lineup will include sets by Mozghan, Sky Madden, and The Creatrix, and 15% of proceeds will go to Planned Parenthood. RS94109 offers quality coffee and drinks in its high-ceilinged and exposed brick interior - along with an always-exceptional selection of records.

3/25 - Peggy Gou featuring Aaron Clark, Mike Gushansky, and CHVCK. - Audio

As You Like It continues to set a high standard for booking serious on-the-rise talents. This event is no exception. The Seoul-born and now Berlin-based Peggy Gou had a banner year in 2016, with the release of her widely-lauded EP, “Seek for Maktoop,” along with two other equally well-received EPs on Radio Slave’s Rekids label, several high profile mixes (Phonica, FACT Magazine, Ninja Tune, etc) and an extensive tour across Europe and her home of South Korea. Aaron Clark (part of Pittsburgh’s famed Honcho crew and recently landed Resident Advisor’s mix of the day), Mike Gushansky (always-excellent AYLI resident), and CHVCK. (Diacritic Collective) round out a super-solid lineup.

3/25 - Shelley Johansson - Verso

If dark, driving techno is more your speed, Octopus Recordings’ rising star Shelley Johansson will be making a stop in San Francisco at Verso. Robot Ears is consistently bringing in outstanding techno talent while staying true to their aesthetic. Johansson’s new EP has seen remarkable support from many major respected DJs including Victor Calderone and Luigi Madonna.

3/25 - Rampue featuring Mira and Rachel Torro - Public Works

More Berlin influence hits Public Works on Saturday with the addition of Rampue in their main room. In addition to his solo productions, he’s done remixes for artists as diverse as Rufus du Sol and Oliver Schories. Additionally the show will be opened by Public Works resident Rachel Torro, Til Von Sein and Mira. Mira is particularly one to watch if you are already a fan of the sounds of KMLN, Nico Stojan, Nu, or Viken Arman.

3/26 - Sunset Season Opener - RESCHEDULED

The San Francisco favorites at Sunset Soundsystem have unfortunately had to officially reschedule their annual Season Opener for April 9th due to rain. Car passes will carry over to the new date. The afterparty with Sunset Soundsystem and WERD. with Ivan Smagghe will continue on at Monarch as scheduled on Sunday.
